The Mana Retreat Centre, Coromandel
Mana 'is a sanctuary nestled in the bush clad hills of the Coromandel Ranges. It has been established for the awakening and exploration of consciousness, the unfolding of our creative and healing potential and the realisation of our essential unity.' One of the biggest inspirations on my journey.

Tauhara Centre
'Tauhara is the expression of an unfolding vision. It was founded to create a spiritual and educational centre which would draw together people of differing viewpoints and methods of working, united in their search for truth and the establishment of good will and understanding in the world.'

Shamballa School
Shamballa School is a large residental centre, where students can study for no charge (other than living expenses of about $NZ150 per week). The School forms part of a community at Highden Manor in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It is an educational centre and community designed to train future leaders through meditation, philosophical study, and a practical life of service. Inspired and organised by the leadership of Bruce Lyon & Vicktorya Stone, who also have the website,

Willing Workers on Organic Farms
A great scheme - become a WWOOFer and stay in exchange for work on many organic farms, homes, and communities in New Zealand! Tribal networking for mutual advantage. I lived at two such host communities and really enjoyed the international (and national) visitors that came for a stay.

Ao-Wira Retreat Centre
Aio Wira was founded in 1970, by a group of yoga students who gave their time, energy and money to its development. It is not based on any specific spiritual philosophy but exists to support all who wish to develop in body, mind and spirit. The centre is governed by a Trust Board and run by a small staff. Aio Wira is situated in the Waitakere Ranges on the western outskirts of Auckland City.
