Where we are...

This is where Q*Tarot is based, if you're not sure where Titirangi, Auckland, or New Zealand (Aotearoa) is. Click on the arrows to 'zoom in'. (Images © Terralink International Ltd. Further reproduction prohibited.) And here are a few postcard-style shots of our country.

The original name of our country, the one given to it by the Maori people, is Aotearoa, which means 'the land of the long white cloud'. Titirangi, where we live, can be translated as 'the fringes of heaven'.

In 'New Zealandese' we 'kiwis' call our place 'Godzone', a pun on 'God's own country'.

How much do you want to know? I've always wanted a 'personal website' or web journal of sorts. When I get time, this might grow quite extensive.

Sixty original poems, ranging from 1979 to the present day, mostly on personal themes like being a man, parenting, relationships and the like. Some rhyming in a traditional sense, and some not, and arranged according from my current likes to the not-so-likes.

Two short stories, one very brief from way back when, and one of several pages based in some degree (rather transparently) on my family.

The wonderful website of my daughter, Tamarah, aged nine. This link will take you to a new browser window. She has stories, photos, pictures, games, and a section on pets.

Five items I made at various times for my two twin boys, Joel and Eli. Some other gifts - children's books - that I made for them can be found elsewhere in this website, in Q*Design>Children's Books.

To know that Satya Sai Baba exists, performing miracles every day and blessing the thousands that come to see him, has been for me a real shift of awareness in what is happening on our planet. A shift towards renewed optimism, trust, and faith.

I've known of Satya Sai Baba since approximately 1991, but as yet haven't made it to India to see him, one of my life's goals. If you've not heard of him at all, then please don't pass at least this small opportunity to know something about him - some photos, stories, quotes, and personal reflections.

Adi Da Samraj is the guru of my partner, Karen. She is his formal devotee, and part of the religious community, Adidam, that is formed around him. I guess I might be his 'informal' devotee, or perhaps just 'ardent admirer' (considering that I've not taken on any actual practices).

In this part of the website though, I want to express some of that admiration, and grow thereby in appreciation of Adi Da. Here then are some favourite photos and quotes, and some personal musings about this realized being.
